Lecturer of Chinese
Mbugua, Wanjiku
Ms. Wanjiku is a lecturer of Chinese Language in the Department of Languages and Linguistics, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and has been teaching Chinese Language since 2013. MS. Wanjiku has acquired vast experience in Chinese language translation for mostly Chinese companies or non-Chinese companies working with/for Chinese natives both in Kenya and abroad. She has taught Chinese language in a couple of other institutions among them St. Paul's University, the Language Centre, Consolata Language Center, among more. Wanjiku played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Confucius Classroom at USIU-Africa, established in February 2020. In a bid to promote and popularize Chinese Language in Kenya, Wanjiku has served as a judge and examiner at the Chinese Spelling Bee competitions held in Kenya. Her articles are centered mostly on promoting/developing Chinese language in Africa and more so in Kenya.
